Josef Tazreiter

Josef Tazreiter (born January 3, 1891 in Ybbsitz , Lower Austria ; † January 5, 1955 there ) was an Austrian politician ( CSP , later ÖVP ).

Life

Josef Tazreiter was born in Hubberg , a municipality in the Amstetten district that was independent in 1891 and is now part of Ybbsitz . After attending the five-class primary school in Ybbsitz, Tazreiter became a farmer who took over his parents' farm in 1921.

As a farmer, Tazreiter was chairman of various agricultural bodies, including the Lower Austrian Alpine Pasture Association and the Ybbstaler agricultural cooperative.

From April 27 to May 2, 1934, Tazreiter was a Christian Social Member of the Federal Council in Vienna for just one week . He then moved into the Federal Economic Council, which existed in Austria according to the May constitution of 1934, and was to be a member until 1938.

From December 1945 to November 1949 he sat as a member of the ÖVP in the National Council . Immediately one day after leaving the National Council, he was sworn in again as a Lower Austrian delegate in the Federal Council. Tazreiter was a member of the provincial chamber until November 1954. He died barely two months later, at the age of 64.

In 1953 he was given the professional title of Economics Council.
