Josef Treumann

Josef Treumann (born November 16, 1846 in Ujest , Upper Silesia , † around 1904 in New York ) was a German-American journalist and writer.

Life

Treumann completed a commercial apprenticeship and then worked in this profession for some time. In 1879 he was brought to the Leipzig Chamber of Commerce , where he worked as a lecturer for some time. During this time he also traveled to the tsarist empire and published a report about it.

In the winter of 1882/1882 Treumann resigned from all offices and emigrated to the USA in the spring of 1883 . The first time he earned his living as a teacher in New York; later he worked at Zickel Verlag as editor of the German-American family papers .

In addition to his journalistic and editorial work, an independent literary work was created over time.
