Josef Verlemann

Josef Verlemann (born October 12, 1882 in Ibbenbüren ; † June 12, 1958 ) was a German local politician and honorary district administrator ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending school, he completed an agricultural training course and then worked as a farmer .

Verlemann was a member of the Ibbenbüren city council . From November 8, 1951 to November 21, 1952 he was mayor here . He was also a member of the representative office of Ibbenbüren and was mayor from 1948 to January 1951.

He was a member of the district council of the then Tecklenburg district from 1946. From March 15, 1946 to October 29, 1946, Verlemann was district administrator of the district.

From 1947, Verlemann was chairman of the CDU local authority association in the Tecklenburg district. On May 4, 1927 he was one of the founding members of the gymnastics and sports club Recke.

Others

On August 30, 1955, Verlemann was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon. In Ibbenbüren the Josef-Verlemann-Straße was named after him.
