Josef Wagner (politician, 1940)

Josef "Pepi" Wagner (born April 21, 1940 in Vienna ; † April 9, 2002 in Mödling ) was an Austrian politician ( LIF ) and master builder. From 1993 to 1998 he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament .

After elementary school, Wagner attended a secondary school and then graduated from the technical college for building construction in Mödling . He passed the master builder examination in 1965 and also worked as a court sworn expert. He was involved in Mödling's local politics, where he was a member of the local council from 1981 to 1995 and held the office of deputy mayor from 1985 to 1990. He entered the state elections in Lower Austria in 1988 with the "List Pepi Wagner" in the constituency "District under the Vienna Woods", but only achieved 0.57% of the votes in Lower Austria. In the state elections in Lower Austria in 1993 he ran for the Liberal Forum and was sworn in as a member of the state parliament on June 7, 1993 after winning three seats. He resigned from the LIF in 1994, making him the first non-attached member of the Lower Austrian state parliament. In the state elections in Lower Austria in 1998 , Wagner ran again with the Pepi Wagner list, but failed again with 0.78% to enter the state parliament. He left the state parliament on April 16, 1998.

In 2002, Wagner was found dead in his apartment after a heart attack.
