Josef Weiß (politician)

Josef Weiß (born July 25, 1862 in Puchberg near Wels ; † December 13, 1934 there ) was an Austrian farmer and innkeeper and Christian social politician.

The business owner Josef Weiß was chairman of the agricultural district cooperative Wels and president of the agricultural association for Upper Austria. He was one of the founders of the Wels warehouse cooperative and was a member of the Wels ground traffic commission.

From 1903 to 1906 he was mayor of the then still independent municipality of Puchberg near Wels. From 1907 to 1918 he was a member of the Austrian Reichsrat , then a member of the Constituent National Assembly and until 1923 a member of the Austrian National Council .
