Josef von Camerlohr
Josef von Camerlohr (born September 20, 1819 in Viechtach , † July 6, 1851 in Munich ) was a German portrait and genre painter and draftsman.
Born as the son of the district judge Georg Ritter von Camerlohr, his father determined him to be a lawyer, but began his apprenticeship at Joseph Bernhardt's painting school in Munich and continued his studies from March 7, 1836 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich away.
After graduating, he worked as a portrait and genre painter in Munich. He also provided humorous drawings for the magazine " Fliegende Blätter ". He was a member of the Munich Art Association and took part in its exhibitions. He died at the age of 31.
