Joseph Albert Bacler d'Albe ([ båk´laiʀ dålb ]) (also called José Alberto, born July 22, 1789 in Sallanches , Savoy , † December 29, 1824 in Valparaíso , Chile ), was a French military topographer .

Life

He was the oldest child of the military topographer and general staff officer in the Napoleonic armies, Louis Albert Guislain Bacler d'Albe . After the restoration , he emigrated to Chile. In South America he is considered to be the founder of the local military topography.
