Roberto Parra
Roberto Parra ( Roberto Parra Mateo ; born April 6, 1976 in Socuéllamos , Ciudad Real province ) is a former Spanish middle-distance runner .
He won gold over 800 m in 1996 at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Stockholm and reached the semi- finals at the 1998 European Athletics Championships in Budapest and at the 1999 World Athletics Championships in Seville. In 2000 he was fifth at the European Indoor Championships in Ghent and was eliminated from the Olympic Games in Sydney in the preliminary stages.
In 2003 he was respectively over 1500 m in ninth at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham and tenth at the World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis .
He was twice the Spanish champion over 800 m outdoors (1998, 2000) and five times indoors (1996, 1998-2001).
