Antonio Páez
Antonio Páez Montero (born September 5, 1956 in Arenas del Rey , Granada province ) is a former Spanish middle -distance runner who specialized in the 800-meter distance .
At the European Athletics Indoor Championships he was sixth in San Sebastián in 1977 and won gold in Vienna in 1979 .
In 1980 he reached the semi-finals at the Olympic Games in Moscow . A bronze medal at the 1981 European Indoor Championships in Grenoble was followed by gold at the 1982 European Indoor Championships in Milan.
In 1978 he became Spanish champion. In the hall he won the national title over 400 m in 1976 and in 1977 and 1979 over 800 m.
