Peter Braun (born August 1, 1962 in Tuttlingen ) is a former German middle -distance runner who specialized in the 800-meter distance .

In 1986 he won the European Indoor Championships in Madrid in 1: 48.96 minutes and was sixth at the European Championships in Stuttgart . The following year he reached the quarter-finals at the 1987 World Championships in Rome. At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 he reached the semifinals, where he was eliminated as the last of his run in 1: 47.43 min.

From 1986 to 1988 he was German indoor champion three times. In 1987 and 1989 he won the championship title outdoors, in 1986, 1988 and 1992 he finished second.

Peter Braun is 1.83 m tall and weighed 64 kg during his active time. He started for LG Tuttlingen until 1991 and switched to MTV Ingolstadt in 1992 . After the 1994 season he ended his career.
