Marcin Przemysław Lewandowski (born June 13, 1987 in Stettin ) is a Polish athlete . He is a middle distance runner who specializes in the 800 meter run .

Life

Marcin Lewandowski starts for the Zawisza Bydgoszcz club . In 2006 he finished fourth at the Junior World Championships in Beijing. He was U23 European champion over 800 meters in Debrecen in 2007 and took part in the Olympic Games in Beijing a year later . He was eliminated in the semifinals over 800 meters. In 2009 he won the silver medal at the U23 European Championships in Kaunas . At the 2009 World Championships in Berlin , he fell in the semifinals after a collision between the Sudanese Abubaker Kaki and the Dutch Bram Som . After a protest by the Polish team management, he and Bram Som were allowed to go to the final, where he finished eighth.

Lewandowski won gold in the 800-meter run at the 2010 European Championships . In 2016 he won the silver medal.
