Herbert Wursthorn

Herbert Wursthorn (born June 22, 1957 in Würtingen ) is a former German athlete .

In 1980 he won bronze at the European Indoor Championships in Sindelfingen in the 800-meter run with 1: 50.4 minutes. A year later he became European indoor champion in 1: 47.70 min in Grenoble. At the German championships he was mostly in the shadow of Willi Wülbeck . Wursthorn was second outdoors in 1985 and runner-up indoors in 1980 and 1986. Wursthorn set his best performance of 1: 46.75 minutes in 1980 in Warsaw.

With the season of VfB Stuttgart he was four times German champion over 4 × 800 meters from 1982 to 1985 and in the hall he also won four titles with the season in 1981 and from 1983 to 1985.

Herbert Wursthorn works today as a qualified psychologist at the Olympic training center in Stuttgart .
