Luis Javier González

Luis Javier González (born June 17, 1969 in Madrid ) is a former Spanish middle -distance runner who specialized in the 800-meter distance .

Life

At the European Athletics Championships in 1990 in Split, he reached the semi-finals. In 1991 he won silver at the Mediterranean Games and retired from the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in the preliminary stages.

In 1992 he won gold at the European Indoor Athletics Championships in Genoa , and in 1993 he reached the semi-finals at the World Championships in Stuttgart . His last major success was the silver medal at the 1994 European Indoor Championships in Paris.

He was Spanish champion four times outdoors (1990-1993) and twice indoors (1991, 1994).
