Markku Taskinen

Markku Taskinen (born February 25, 1952 in Kuusamo ) is a former Finnish middle -distance runner who specialized in the 800-meter distance .

At the European Athletics Championships in 1974 he won bronze. In the 4 x 400 meter relay , he was part of the Finnish team that finished third but was then disqualified.

At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1978 in Milan, he won gold.

Five times he was Finnish champion over 800 m (1973-1976, 1978) and once over 400 m (1973). In 1977 he won the national 800 m title indoors.
