Joseph Alouf

Joseph Elie Alouf (born April 4, 1929 in Baalbek , Lebanon , † March 20, 2014 ) was a French immunologist , microbiologist , toxicologist and pharmacist .

Alouf worked at the Pasteur Institute in Paris and has been President of the Scientific Council there since 1987. From June 16, 1988 he was a member of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR and from 1991 a corresponding member of the Academy of Non-Profit Science in Erfurt .

Alouf is one of the founders of the international symposia on bacterial protein toxins.
