Joseph Anthony De Palma
Joseph Anthony De Palma SCJ (born September 4, 1913 in Walton , New York , USA ; † February 3, 2005 in Saint Petersburg , Florida ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of De Aar in South Africa .
Life
De Palma was ordained a priest on May 20, 1944 . In 1959 he was elected Superior General of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus , making him the fifth Superior General of this congregation since it was founded. De Palma was ordained bishop on April 13, 1967. For reasons of age he resigned on November 18, 1987 from this office. Afterwards he lived in the community of the Sacramentines in Pinellas Park (Florida) as a simple religious.
