Joseph Eichenbaum (* 1857 in Naschitz ; † probably 1882 there ) was an Austrian paleontologist.

Life

Eichenbaum studied paleontology with Melchior Neumayr at the University of Vienna . Presumably in 1882 he died unexpectedly. Before his death, he produced a work on fossil brachiopods that was almost ready for printing , in which he also described a new species ( Rhynchonellina brusinai J. Eichenbaum). The manuscript was completed by Karl Frauscher and published posthumously.
