Karl Frauscher

Karl Ferdinand Frauscher (born October 23, 1852 in Mattighofen , † April 12, 1914 in Klagenfurt ) was an Austrian teacher and paleontologist .

Frauscher was in 1883 at the University of Vienna Dr. phil. PhD. From 1882 to 1885 he was a volunteer at the Geological Reichsanstalt in Vienna. In 1890 Frauscher became a secondary school teacher in Klagenfurt. From 1890 he was also curator of the zoological and palaeontological collections at the Carinthian State Museum .

Frauscher worked in the field of paleontology in the fields of phytopalaeontology and evertebrata , especially from the Alpine Eocene .
