Joseph Engels

Joseph Engels (born November 19, 1901 , † July 4, 1982 ) was a German lawyer and judge .

Career

Engels received his doctorate in 1923 from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . From 1930 to 1939 he was at the German representation at the German-British Mixed Arbitration Court, from 1939 to 1945 a judge at the Berlin Regional Court . In 1946 he became director of the Düsseldorf Regional Court . In 1949 he was assistant judge at the Supreme Court for the British Zone, 1950 federal judge and 1959 Senate president at the federal court . He retired in 1969.
