Joseph Habib Hitti

Joseph Habib Hitti (born September 30, 1925 in Aytou ) is a Maronite clergyman and former bishop of the Eparchy of St. Marron of Sydney .

Life

Joseph Habib Hitti was ordained a priest on March 24, 1951 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of the Eparchy of St. Marron of Sydney on November 23, 1990. The Pope personally donated him episcopal ordination on January 6 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishops of the Curia Giovanni Battista Re , substitute for the State Secretariat , and Justin Francis Rigali , Secretary of the Congregation for Bishops . He was introduced to office on March 4 of the same year.

On October 26, 2001, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
