Adolf Karl Joseph Heinrich (born September 28, 1860 in Geberschweier , † September 22, 1948 in Spechbach-le-Bas ) was a Franco-German local politician ( center ) and a member of the state parliament of Alsace-Lorraine .

education and profession

Joseph Heinrich was the son of the farmer and mayor Adolf Heinrich and his wife Marie née Boesch. In 1886 he married Antoinette (Melle), née Wolf, the daughter of State Committee member Antonine Wolf . The marriage resulted in 5 children.

Joseph Heinrich attended elementary school in Geberschweier from 1866 to 1870, and from 1870 to 1874 the Catholic "Collège der Frères de Marie" (Marite Brothers) in Gebweiler. After graduating from the "Institution libre de Combrée" ( Maine-et-Loire department ), he studied from 1875 to 1876 at the Lautrach Business School near Memmingen and from 1876 to 1878 at the Rufach Agricultural School .

After completing his military service as a one-year volunteer , he had been a farmer and landowner on his parents' farm in Niederspechbach near Altkirch in Upper Alsace since 1888 .

On July 5, 1913, he was made an honorary member of the Catholic Student Union AV Rappoltstein zu Strasbourg (later Strasbourg to Cologne).

politics

Joseph Heinrich was a member of the Alsace-Lorraine Center Party . In 1902 he was elected to the local council of Niederspechbach, from 1906 to 1919 he was elected mayor of Niederspechbach.

From 1906 to 1911 he was a member of the regional committee of the Reichsland Alsace-Lorraine , from 1907 to 1922 a member of the District Assembly of Lower Alsace. From 1911 to 1918 he was a member of the state parliament. He was elected as a direct candidate for the Center Party with 52.7% of the vote in constituency I (Hirsingen-Pfirt). In 1919 he became a member of the National Council for Alsace-Lorraine. In the ministry set up by the National Council, he was responsible for supply and agriculture.

From 1919 to 1920 he was a member of the Conseil Supérieur d'Alsace et de Lorraine and then until 1924 of the Comité consultatif d'Alsace et de Lorraine . Politically, he joined the UPR .

In 1929 he was accepted into the Legion of Honor .
