Joseph Herscher (born December 4, 1985 in New York City , grew up in Auckland , New Zealand ) is a YouTuber who has been presenting self-constructed nonsense machines, so-called Rube Goldberg machines , on his YouTube channel Joseph's Machines since 2007 .

Life

The son of the musician couple Linn Lorkin and Hershal Herscher grew up in New Zealand and made his first machine at the age of 5: the Lolly machine . 15 years later, he turned his entire house into a chain reaction machine. As a software developer, he moved to New York City in 2009 and lives in Brooklyn . Here he turned his hobby into a profession in 2012 and builds crazy machines for film, television and art festivals like the Biennale di Venezia or Ars Electronica .

Youtube channel

Joseph Herscher's breakthrough was a two and a half minute chain reaction experiment Creme That Egg , the cornerstone of his YouTube channel Joseph's Machines. For his machines he has a great solution for everything: for annoying tooth brushing so that you don't have to turn the pages of your newspaper yourself, social distancing or quick hotdog preparation for parties. For his videos, he uses everything that can be found in the household.
