Joseph Jackson (born June 8, 1894 in Winchester , Kentucky , † May 26, 1932 in Laguna Beach , California ) was an American screenwriter .

Life

Jackson began working as a screenwriter for the Hollywood film industry in the mid-1920s and, after Afraid to Love (1927) until his death five years later, wrote the templates and scripts for over 50 films, such as films such as "Leichtes Geld" (Easy Money) ( 1931, original title: Smart Money ), "Ein ausfuchster Gauner" (1932, original title: High Pressuregroup ) or "Reise ohne Wiederkehr" (1932, original title: One Way Passage ).

At the Academy Awards in 1931 , he was nominated together with Lucien Hubbard for the Oscar for Best Original Story for Easy Money .

Jackson was married to the film actress Ethel Shannon , who became one of the WAMPAS Baby Stars in 1923 , and had a son with her until his death .
