Joseph Jungmann (theologian)
Josephus Jungmann SJ (born November 12, 1830 in Münster , † November 25, 1885 in Innsbruck ) was a German theologian.
Life
From 1850 he studied theology and philosophy at the Collegium Germanicum in Rome and was ordained a priest in 1855. In 1857 he became a member of the Society of Jesus and the following year he switched to teaching at the University of Innsbruck . In Innsbruck he became professor of ecclesiastical eloquence and catechetics at the university and professor of liturgy at the theological Konvikt. His brother was Bernard Jungmann .
