Joseph Kasimir Korwin Kossakowski (born March 16, 1738 - May 9, 1794 in Warsaw ) was Bishop of Livonia , Suffragan of Trakai and Coadjutor of Vilnius , founder of St. Jacob's Church in Jonava , poet, playwright, memuarist, Translator and participant in the Confederation of Bar and the Targowica Confederation .

Life

Joseph studied at the Jesuit School in Kaunas and the Vilnius Academy, after which he trained in Vilnius and Warsaw , where he graduated from the seminary in 1763 .

On March 13, 1775 he was ordained titular bishop of Cinna , and from September 17, 1781 he was active as Bishop of Livonia.
