Joseph Mantke

Joseph Mantke , also: Josef (born January 21, 1866 in Bladen ; † after 1932) was a German teacher and politician ( center ).

Life

After graduating from elementary school, Mantke took private training for the teachers' seminar and in August 1886 he passed the final examination in Oberglogau . Four months later he got a job as a primary school teacher in Pschow , where he worked until 1897. He passed the second teacher examination in 1888, the secondary school teacher examination in 1891 and the rector examination in 1892. At the beginning of July 1897 he switched to teaching at the Catholic elementary school in Gleiwitzwhich he headed as rector from 1923. In addition, from 1900 he worked part-time as a teacher at the commercial vocational school in Gleiwitz and since April 1921 also its director. On October 1, 1923, he became director of the commercial education association in Gleiwitz. In addition, he was deputy chairman of the church council of the parish of St. Bartholomew .

Mantke joined the Center Party. Until 1923 he was a city councilor in Gleiwitz and a member of various city commissions. On January 3, 1923, he moved up as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged without interruption until the end of the third legislative term in 1932. In parliament he represented constituency 9 (Opole).
