Joseph Marmon

Joseph Marmon (born February 5, 1858 in Haigerloch ; † January 13, 1934 there ) was a German Catholic clergyman.

Joseph Marmon, who wrote himself “ph” to distinguish himself from his better-known uncle, the Freiburg Cathedral Chapter Josef Marmon (1820–1885), was the son of master tailor Johann Paul Marmon. After studying theology in Freiburg and being ordained a priest in 1882, he initially worked as a vicar in Lichtental and Meersburg , and from 1887 as a chaplain in Pfullendorf . In 1893 he was rector of the Fidelishaus in Sigmaringen , in 1907 pastor in Sigmaringendorf , in 1909 dean in Sigmaringen and in 1916 city pastor of St. Johann in Sigmaringen. In 1923 he received the title of clergyman , and in 1928 he retired, which he spent in his native Haigerloch, where he was also an honorary citizen.
