Josef Marmon

Josef Marmon (born March 4, 1820 in Haigerloch , † November 11, 1885 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German Catholic clergyman and cathedral chapter in Freiburg.

Josef Marmon was the son of master tailor Sebastian Marmon (1790–1872) and his wife Kleopha Müller, his younger brother was the sculptor Franz Xaver Marmon (1832–1878). After attending schools in Rottweil and Sigmaringen and studying in Tübingen and Freiburg , he attended the seminary in 1843/44 St. Peter and received on 31 August 1844, the priestly ordination . He became vicar and chaplain in Veringendorf and in 1853 pastor in Empfingen . In 1856 he was appointed to the Archbishopric Ordinariate in Freiburg, where he was responsible for the Hohenzollern parts of the Archdiocese of Freiburg until his death . In 1865 he became cathedral capitular and at the same time minister pastor at Freiburg cathedral until 1872 .
