Joseph Netzer
Joseph Netzer (born February 20, 1826 in Martelange , † June 21, 1901 in Arlon ) was mayor of Arlon from 1880 to 1901. His successor in office was Numa Ensch-Tesch , his predecessor Pierre Hollenfeltz .
During his tenure, the town hall on Rue Paul Reuter was completely renovated. It was originally designed by the then very young architect Albert-Jean-Baptiste Jamot and served as a school and boarding school from 1843 to 1896 . On September 29, 1898, Netzer presided over the council for the first time in the new town hall.
He was married to Élisabeth Delrez and had six children. A street in Arlon is named after him. He was buried in the Jewish section of the Arlon cemetery .
