Joseph Ranquet

Joseph Ranquet (born December 4, 1868 in Sauveterre , † December 18, 1954 in Roquemaure ) was a French politician. From 1938 to 1942 he was a member of the National Assembly .

The first political office held by Ranquet was that of deputy mayor in his home village Sauveterre. After holding this post from 1896 to 1904, he was elected mayor of the municipality in 1908. In 1925 he moved to the General Council of the Gard department . When a seat in parliament became vacant due to the death of the previous MP Aimé Larguier in 1938, Ranquet applied for it. He entered the National Assembly and joined the radicals there. In 1940 he voted for the Enabling Act of the Vichy regime . Then he withdrew from politics.
