Joseph Straus

Joseph Straus (born December 14, 1938 in Trieste ) is a scientist in the field of patent law .

biography

Straus is emeritus director of the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property , Competition and Tax Law in Munich and head of the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center. As a professor he teaches at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and at the University of Ljubljana as well as at the George Washington University , Washington, DC He lectures worldwide and is a sought-after discussion partner for all aspects of government and international organizations as well as NGOs and companies of patent law. He is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and one of the vice-presidents (as of 2012). He has received several honorary doctorates and other awards. He is u. a. Editor of the magazine GRUR International and has presented numerous publications, mainly on questions of patent law. Since 2001 he has been a full member of the Academia Europaea .
