Joseph Zahradniczek the Younger
Joseph Zahradniczek (* 1822 in Vienna ; † August 29, 1844 there ) was an Austrian landscape painter, lithographer and graphic artist. He was often mentioned as "Joseph Zahradniczek the Younger". There was also the eponymous “Joseph Zahradniczek the Elder” (1813 – after 1850), who sometimes called his works “Jos. Zahradniczek senior ”and his works are often attributed to the younger one.
Born as the son of a guard of the Royal Hungarian Life Guard in Vienna, Josef Zahradniczek began studying landscape painting at the Imperial and Royal Academy of Fine Arts Vienna at the age of 16 .
Since starting his studies in 1838 he exhibited his works at the annual exhibitions in Vienna's St. Annahof .
He died at the age of 21.
