Joshua Brown (born February 19, 1990 in Leeds , England ) is a British actor .

Life

Joshua Brown was born in Leeds . He grew up in Batley and attended Stage 84 Performing Arts School in Bradford . He also completed a three-year acting course at Calderdale College. He started his acting career with several appearances in plays and musicals. He got his first television role in 2005. He played Alex Pickering in 66 episodes of the television series Grange Hill . He was also seen in the television series Casualty . He played an overweight boy who desperately wants to lose weight, but is prevented from doing so by his overprotective mother. From 2007 to 2009 he played Frankie Moore in Holby City . In 2011 he got the lead role of the ghost Matt in the television series Becoming Human . In the same year he made an appearance on the television series Shameless . In 2012 he portrayed Oli Appleton in Emmerdale Farm . In 2014 he was seen as Billy in the movie The Knife That Killed Me .
