Joshua J. Johnson (born May 10, 1976 ) is an American athlete whose specialty is the 200-meter run .

Sporting successes

Together with John Capel , Bernard Williams and Darvis Patton , Johnson won the gold medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the 2003 World Athletics Championships in Paris . With 38.06 seconds, the American relay was in first place ahead of the teams from Brazil and the Netherlands. In the individual start in the 200-meter run , Johnson finished sixth in 20.47 s.

In the same year Johnson was the winner of the Grand Prix final of the athletes in Monaco in the 200-meter run.

In 2001 Johnson was the world's best 200 meter runner. With his best performances in the 100 and 200 meter runs, he is one of the few sprinters who have undercut both the 10 and 20 seconds mark.
