Darvis Darell Patton (born December 4, 1977 in Dallas ) is a retired American athlete .

Darvis was a very versatile track and field athlete in his youth. He competed in long jump and high jump while in high school and college . However, he later focused on the sprint .

Patton celebrated the greatest successes of his career to date at the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis . As a member of the US 4 x 100 meter relay , he was world champion together with John Capel , Bernard Williams and Joshua J. Johnson . In the race over 200 meters Patton was narrowly defeated by his teammate John Capel. With a time of 20.31 s, Patton was only a hundredth of a second behind Capel and won silver. Used in the heats, he received a silver medal at the 2004 Olympic Games with the 4 x 100 meter relay.

Injuries plagued him for the next two years. In 2007 things went up again: at the Pan-American Games in Rio de Janeiro he won silver in the 100-meter run , at the 2007 World Championships he won the gold medal in the USA's 4-by-100-meter relay. In 2008 he finished eighth over 100 meters at the Beijing Olympics .

Another Olympic silver medal with the relay was added in 2012 in London .

Darvis Patton had a competition weight of 75 kg with a height of 1.83 m. He ended his career in 2013.
