Josip Stritar
Josip Stritar (born March 6, 1836 in Podsmreka with Velike Lašče ; † November 25, 1923 in Rogaška Slatina near Ptuj ) was a Slovenian writer and critic.
Josip Stritar came from a farming family. From 1873 he worked as a high school teacher in Vienna . 1878–1901 he was a professor at the Piaristengymnasium in Josefstadt , Stritar published the literary magazine “Zvon” (1870, 1875–80). He wrote formally demanding poetry , satires , novels and short stories.
