The Journal Peaks are two groups of isolated mountain peaks and nunatakkers of up to 1650 m height and east-west orientation in the south-central part of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . They extend for eight miles at a distance of 17 miles southeast of the Seward Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped them using aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1966 to 1969. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them after the Antarctic Journal of the United States published by the National Science Foundation from 1966 .
