List of express bus routes in the RMV area

The Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund has given its regional bus routes in line traffic unique numbers. The prefix "X" means that the line runs supraregional and does not stop everywhere. This is intended to expand cross-connections between cities.

As a first step towards setting up an express bus ring around Frankfurt am Main , bus route 260 (now X27) between Königstein , Oberursel , Bad Homburg and Karben was set up on June 30, 2014 . After a two-year trial phase, additional cities were connected to one another in December 2016. This created an alternative to the star-shaped rail traffic towards Frankfurt .

For the 2017/2018 timetable change, four additional lines were introduced, one of them outside the Frankfurt area. In addition, three existing express bus routes in the Darmstadt area were renamed: X71 (formerly 681), X74 (formerly 684) and X78 (formerly 682). Another introduction (X93) took place in summer 2018.

For the 2018/2019 timetable change, three more lines were introduced and an existing regional bus line in the Weilburg area will be integrated (289 in X89).

When the timetable changes in December 2020, three more lines are to be added to the southern area of ​​Frankfurt.
