Juan Carlos Núñez

Juan Carlos Núñez (* 1947 in Caracas ) is a Venezuelan composer.

Life

Núñez began his compositional career as an autodidact and received the Premio Nacional de Música in 1972 for his Tocata sinfónica . In 1973 he went to Warsaw to study orchestral conducting at the Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Muzyczna (PWSM). He then directed the orchestras of the Warsaw Conservatory and that of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice . He currently directs the Cátedra Latinoamericana de Composición Antonio Estevez, which he founded .
