Juan Fernando Fonseca
Juan Fernando Fonseca (born May 29, 1979 in Bogotá ) is a Colombian singer and composer . In his home country, the artist, who lives in Bogotá, is best known by his stage name Fonseca .
Life
Fonseca composed his first songs as a child. He studied music at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá and at the Berklee College of Music in Boston . With his first album Fonseca he was suddenly successful in Colombia. His music is a mixture of traditional Colombian vallenato , cumbia and rhythms of pop and rock music . He is under contract with the Colombian branch of the record company EMI .
Awards
In 2006 Fonseca received a Latin Grammy and a Premio MTV Latinoamérica for best new artist for his song Te mando flores . The song Enrédame from the album Gratitud reached number 1 in the Colombian charts in 2008.
