Juan Gorraiz

Juan Gorraiz (born November 30, 1954 in Madrid ) is a Spanish physicist and writer .

Life

After graduating from the Lycée Francais de Madrid , Gorraiz studied physics at the Complutense University of Madrid . He earned his master's degree and doctorate from the University of Vienna (physics, physiology).

He has lived in Vienna since 1978 and since 1985 he has been employed at the Austrian Central Library for Physics, Libraries and Archives at the University of Vienna as head of the user department and document delivery service and since 2008 as head of the Bibliometrics team. Lecturer in the basic training for the library, information and documentation service (BID), application groups A, B, C and D, today, university course " Library and Information Studies MSc ", at the university of applied sciences course information professions (Eisenstadt) and at the IuD- Course of the Austrian Society for Documentation & Information. As a librarian, he is dedicated to bibliometrics and scientometrics, fascinated by the challenge of quantifying the immeasurable in a multidimensional world. At the same time he publishes prose and poetry in German and Spanish.
