Juan José Borrelli (born November 8, 1970 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ) is a former Argentine football player and coach.

Juan José Borrelli, who played in the central attacking midfield, began his professional career in the youth departments of the traditional Argentine club River Plate , where he played until 1990. In the 1990/1991 season Borrelli got a professional contract and switched to the squad of the men's team, in which he was able to win the Apertura championship with River Plate. In the summer of 1991 Borrelli moved to Greece to Panathinaikos Athens , where, in addition to two championships (1995, 1996) and three cup wins (1993, 1994, 1995), he was also able to win the Greek Supercup twice (1993, 1994). In this most successful period of his career for Borrelli, he made it to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League in 1996 , before being eliminated with Panathinaikos despite a 1-0 away win at Ajax Amsterdam . With four goals scored in the Champions League, Borrelli was one of the best players in his team, prompting coach Daniel Passarella to call him to the Argentine national football team. He came on a total of seven missions. In the following years of his career Borrelli changed his team several times and was able to win the Apertura Championship again in 1997 with River Plate. In January 2002 he returned to Greece and signed a six-month contract with the then first division club Akratitos Ano Liosia , where he finally ended his active career.

After his playing career, Borrelli took over the coaching position at River Plates youth team.
