Juan Manuel Alejándrez (born May 17, 1944 , † January 6, 2007 ) was a Mexican football player who was usually used in the right midfield . He died at the age of 62 from complications from years of stomach ailment. Alejándrez left behind his wife and five grown children, all of whom were married themselves.

His career as a professional player in the Mexican Primera División began in 1963 with the Club Nacional . After his relegation at the end of the 1964/65 season, he moved to the CD Cruz Azul , who had been promoted to the top division only a year earlier. With this club Alejándrez won four championship titles and three times the CONCACAF Champions' Cup . From 1973 to 1977 he played for Club Jalisco before ending his active career with CF Atlante in the 1977/78 season .

National team

Between 1967 and 1970 Alejándrez completed a total of 24 international matches for the Mexican national football team . He was also part of the Mexican World Cup squad in 1970 , but was not used at the World Cup itself.
