Juan René Serrano Gutiérrez (born February 23, 1984 in Guadalajara ) is a Mexican archer. He fights in the Olympic discipline recurve .

Serrano started archery when he was 14 . A year later, in 1999, he became a member of the Mexican national team. He won a number of national and international tournaments. In 2004 he first took part in the Summer Olympics in Athens . In the individual competition he was eliminated in the second round against the later Olympic champion Marco Galiazzo with one point difference. With the Mexican team, he reached 12th place in the team competition.

In 2006 he won the silver medal at the Pan American Championship in Rio de Janeiro and was runner-up at the World Cup finals in Dubai in November 2007. After finishing the 2007 World Championships in Leipzig in 70th place, he secured participation in the Summer Olympics in Beijing with his victory in the Pan-American qualifying tournament . There he finished the preliminary round in first place and advanced in the final round to the semi-finals, but was then defeated by the South Korean Park Kyung-mo . In the battle for the bronze medal he was left behind against the Russian Bair Badjonow .
