Judith Hahn

Judith Hahn (* 1978 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German Catholic theologian and university teacher .

Life

From 1997 to 2002 she studied Catholic theology at the PTH Sankt Georgen and Heythrop College . From 2002 to 2004 she studied canon law at the University of Münster , where she received her doctorate from 2004 to 2008 . From 2002 to 2009 she was a research assistant at the Oswald von Nell-Breuning Institute for Business and Social Ethics . From 2006 to 2010 she was a research assistant at the Institute for Canon Law (IKR) (Münster) and at the Professorship for Canon Law and Church Legal History at the University of Eichstätt .

As a junior professor (W 1) for canon law, Hahn taught at the University of Bochum from 2010 to 2015 . Since 2011 she has been defender of marriage at the Archbishop's Office of Cologne. From 2011 to 2013 she was a member of the Global Young Faculty II of the Mercator Foundation . In the 2015/2016 winter semester, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research financed her leave to research as a fellow at the Käte Hamburger Kolleg Law as Culture at the University of Bonn . Since 2015 she has been teaching as a university professor (W 2) for canon law in Bochum . Since 2016 she has been a judge at the Church Labor Court with the qualification to hold the office of church judge. After completing her habilitation in Münster in April 2016, she was an Academic Visitor of the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of Oxford in August 2016 . The German Research Foundation financed her research leave in the winter semester 2016/2017. She has been Vice Dean of the Catholic Faculty in Bochum since October 2017 .
