Judith Merchant

Judith Merchant (* 1976 in Bonn ) is a German crime writer.

Life

Judith Merchant grew up in Sankt Augustin and graduated from the Rhein-Sieg-Gymnasium there. She then studied German with various additional subjects at the Universities of Münster and Bonn . During a writing crisis during her doctoral thesis, she began to write her first short stories. In 2008 her second short thriller Monopoly was published , which was awarded the Friedrich Glauser Prize in May 2009 . In 2009 she received the Krefeld Short Crime Award for her crime thriller Der Himmel über Krefeld . She is a member of the Syndikat , an association of German-speaking crime writers.

Merchant works as a lecturer in literature at the University of Bonn and lives in Bonn .
