Judith Trepp

Judith Trepp (* 1941 in New York City ) is an American-Swiss painter and sculptor. She is a representative of abstract art .

Life

Judith Trepp was born as Judith Sklar in Manhattan (New York). She studied at Bard College, where she came into contact with Abstract Expressionism. Since 1970 the artist has lived and worked alternately in Switzerland and the USA.

Works

In her paintings you can see the influence of Abstract Expressionism , Bauhaus and Minimalism . Trepp's work is characterized by the dialogue between rest and movement, between surface and line. Layers of the painting surface that appear minimalist are combined with gestural, expressive brushstrokes.
