When you get home everything is normal at first. But there are some peculiarities. Noises when making calls and strange calls. The next morning her dog Judy disappeared. The clowns have infiltrated their home and placed a chest studded with nails in their living room. Your dog seems to be there. After barricading the house, Mary tries to open the chest, but fails.

After going to the bathroom, she is seriously injured by a kind of nail gun . Back at the chest, she finally manages to open it, but another clown comes out and kills her.

background

The Italian production company Necrostorm was founded by Giulio de Santi in 2009 and made a name for itself primarily through hard splatter productions such as Adam Chaplin (2011) and Täter City (2012). In 2014 she took part in the production of this film, which is an exception to the previous production activity. On the one hand, it is the first directorial work by Emanuele de Santi , one of the actors in Adam Chaplin . on the other hand, the film focuses more on the atmosphere than on the actual splatter. Hard splatter effects can only be seen at the beginning and towards the end, while the rest of the film seems more influenced by the early works of David Lynch . The film is also more based on home invasion films and also takes up the horror clown theme.

The film was released in Italy in 2014 as a DVD and Blu-Ray premiere via Necrostorm. The English-language film was released in 2018 as a media book on the Austrian label XT Video in German-speaking countries.

Reviews

All reviews come from the independent horror scene, as the film is not known to a larger audience. The critics particularly praise the technical side of the film and the dark atmosphere. The long middle section is seen as critical, in which hardly anything happens except endless phone calls and the relatively abrupt end. On the other hand, the hard splatter effects, which were supported with a little CGI , were praised .
