Juergens Island is an island off the Scott coast of East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the group of Dailey Islands , it is 2.5 km east of West Dailey Island .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 2001 after Eric D. Juergens of Antarctic Support Associates , who was involved in the development of a garbage disposal program under the United States Antarctic Program in 1991 and nature and health protection measures from 1992 to 1999 in Antarctica .
