Juha Leevi Antero Tapio (born February 5, 1974 in Vaasa ) is a Finnish pop singer, songwriter and guitarist .

Career

Juha Tapio took his first steps as a musician at the age of 13 in Ylistaro , where he played rock music with his first band . His first solo album, Tuulen valtakunta (fin. The empire of the wind ), released in 1999 , as well as the second Tästä kaikesta (fin. Of all of them ) are, however, counted as pop . Due to the strongly Christian-tinged lyrics, these albums have also found their way into confirmation classes.

Later, however, Tapio turned back to the worldly. Mitä silmät ei Nää (fin. What the eyes cannot see ), released in 2003, was his first “worldly” album, with which he also made his breakthrough. The Ohikiitävää (fin. Volatile ) that followed in 2005 already achieved gold status .

The following five albums achieved platinum status. Hyvä voittaa (fin. All the best ) from 2011 cracked the platinum mark just two days after its appearance.

Prizes and awards

In 2007 Juha Tapio was honored together with the singer and actress Maria Ylipää by Kirkon Ulkomaanapu (the second largest Finnish organization for development aid , ecclesiastical) as " Messenger of Hope ".

In 2009 he was awarded the Emma Prize for the best male soloist. In 2014 he was the best male artist in the Iskelmä-Gaala hit competition , and his album Lapislatsulia received the Emma Prize for the best hit album .
